Janet O’Mahony

Janet Marie O’Mahony is an American vocalist known for her interpretations of R & B, Blues, Jazz and Folk classics. It’s an artist’s sound that will set them apart, and Janet demonstrates power, passion and grace all wrapped up into one voice. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Central Florida in her teens.

While attending college in Gainesville at the University of FL, Janet took center stage. Her first band opened for Grand Funk Railroad and since 1987, she has toured throughout the United States and abroad. She has shared the stage with numerous headline acts, some including Bo Diddley, Paul Schaffer & CBS’s Late Night Band, Ben Vereen, Kenny Rogers, Ben E. King, and The Coasters.  Janet's dynamic and soulful voice along with an engaging stage presence has paved the way for her to be in high demand for festivals, concerts and live performances all over the world.  She has sailed the seven seas as a headliner and with bands for Princess, Norwegian, and Cunard Cruise Lines.

While living in the Milwaukee / Chicago area, Janet has been asked to sing The National Anthem for the Milwaukee Bucks, was featured at "Jazz In the Park", "Zoo A La Cart", Wine & Dine WI, Shank Hall, Plymouth Arts Center's- Jazz Crawl opened for "Jean's Jazz Series" at Racine Theatre Guild. She performs regularly for stage appearances and private events at The Pfister Hotel, The Drake, Marriott, Grand Geneva, Intercontinental, Hilton and Hyatt Regency.  She also appears for many concert fund raisers; most recently "Paws & Claws" Gala 2017 (Wisconsin Humane Society), INHABIT - "live into community" (Transformation City Church affiliated non-profit organization), and St. Ann Center Auction Gala.

She was also asked to record a song that is featured in "E.O.B.", a short film that has been accepted into the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.                    While being at home on any concert stage, she is also sought after for studio/voice over talent for radio jingles along with on camera work for television commercials. This year promises to be explosive for Janet. She, together with musical director and husband, Mark Thierfelder , who is native to WI, are releasing original works, some including“Vital Roots” and “One Bridge At a Time”. They demonstrate her Spirit in the music along with Janet’s voice full of verve.
